Amazing Cravens!

This weekend I visited the Luray Cravens in Shenandoah Valley. This place is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains, nature at its best. Shenandoah Valley contains a number of geologically and historically significant limestone caves, we visited Luray Cravens. This place was simply breathtaking.

I want to write about this amazing experience before I forget; although the beauty cannot be captured in words I will try to express my emotions. As we walked inside the cave, there was this peaceful silence and a cool breeze almost touching my face. I knew then this was going to be extraordinary. I am going to talk about my favorites which captured my attention .There is a formation which is referred as the dream lake. This is the largest body of water in the caverns; its deepest point is not more than 18 to 20 inches. Okay what really it is that, it reflects a myriad of fantastic forms and creates a mirror image of the abundant stalactites hanging from the ceiling in water below. Unless you are told that it is a reflection, you just can’t guess. I just stood there looking at nature at its best. I just wanted to stand there and photograph the moment in my memory. Fascinating!
As we moved on, I saw something called the Stalacpipe Organ, the world's largest musical instrument. Puzzled? So was I. Stalactites playing musical instruments! The caverns produce tones of symphonic quality when electronically tapped by rubber-tipped mallets. I was so astonished that I kept hearing the music over and over again whenever they played. This was unbelievable, no wonder it was featured on Ripley’s Believe it or not, Okay here is the footage..MUST SEE!!

If you get a chance do visit the valley, it is worth every minute of your time!
